Below are the first responses back. I know of several of us who haven’t
responded yet, that are planning on going. Also, with two years between now and
pulling anchor, many new people will be added to the group.

What do you think about this?: The timing doesn't work for me
Are you ok with a San Francisco departure?: No - See
my comment below for what I am thinking
Several boats are planning to be in Alaska during the summer
of 2008. Will you be there at that time?: No
After Hawaii,
what would be your plan?: Not going to Hawaii
Comments: Ken, We are leaving from
Mexico
in the spring of 2008, as was originally discussed. We still have not decided
if we heading straight to Polynesia, or via
the Galapagos. Are any others leaving in the spring of 2008? Thanks, Roger

Comments: Our tentative cruising
plans remain the same. We will cruise the west side of Mexico and Costa Rica in 2008 and plan to
start our Pacific crossing from the Galapagos in Spring 2009.

Comments: Sorry about our lack of
participation in the planning todate. We still plan to make the crossing but we
are consumed by boat building problems which are making it difficult to focus
on events 2 years hence. The debate and contributions are going to result in a
very successful venture. We will make a contribution once we feel we have something
of value to add to the debate

Comments: Ideally I (Sonaia) would
like to go to the Galapagos before heading to Alaska
and to Hawaii.
The reason being is that we will probably not be coming back to that part of
the world anymore with our boat and if we do not take the opportunity after
crossing the Panama Canal, we will probably miss it all together especially if
we head to Hawaii from San Francisco. Chris and I intend to
circumnavigate and eventually get back to Spain from where we started out our
long journey. Maybe wintering in San Francisco
and departing to Hawaii from Dana Point?
Is that a too CRAZY idea?

Comments: Ken, I am in contact
with Larry Briggs. Evidently, there are about 4 to 6 boats that are planning to
leave Mexico
in Spring, 2008, skip Galapagos, and sail directly for the Marquesas. We will
go with that group. Both Larry and I know of a number of people who have been
to the Galapagos by boat recently and felt it wasn't worth the effort to get
there. We will do Hawai'i
on our return from the SP. Larry will be in Cabo on Feb, 9. Unfortunately, I
won't return to Cabo until late Feb. We will get together if he is still in the
area. Patrick Willard 40PH ALOHA
