Cruising Plans - Sans Souci (Williams)

Pick up boat in Dana Point, where we should take delivery in April or May, and run it to Seattle. Once we arrive in Seattle things get muddy, because we are uncertain if we will pay the Washington taxes, or flag the boat internationally, and keep it out of the state. With the delay of the Pacific Crossing to 2009, momentum has shifted to paying the taxes, and keeping the boat at Roche Harbor in the San Juan Islands. We'll then cruise the Pacific NY the summer of 2007, possibly as far north as Alaska, but as this is our first year with the boat, we might take it easy and not venture more than a few hundred miles north.

In November 2007, we plan to take the boat from Seattle to our home in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. There is a rally from San Diego to Cabo which we are likely to participate in as an escort boat. The rally is being organized by Bruce Kessler, who made the film about the Atlantic Rally

2008

We plan to cruise the sea of cortez, from Nov 2007 to May 2008, possibly venturing as far south as Costa Rica. We're going to cruise the same area over the winter 2008/2009 season, so our precise plans will vary according to what other cruisers are doing.

For the summer of 2008, we'll run the boat back to Seattle from Cabo, and cruise north again, picking up Alaska if we didn't go there in 2007.

2009

Cross the Pacific with the group. Once we get there, we'll either ship the boat straight to the med, or work our way around the world. We'll decide when the time comes.
